Nonsupersymmetric brane vacua in stabilized compactifications
We derive the equations for the nonsupersymmetric vacua of D3-branes in the presence of nonperturbative moduli stabilization in type IIB flux compactifications, and solve and analyze them in the case of two particular 7-brane embeddings at the bottom of the warped deformed conifold. In the limit of large volume and long throat, we obtain vacua by imposing a constraint on the 7-brane embedding. ...
متن کاملD3-brane Vacua in Stabilized Compactifications
D3-branes feel no force in no-scale flux compactifications of type IIB string theory, but the nonperturbative effects required to stabilize the Kähler moduli break the no-scale structure and generate a potential for D3-brane motion, confining the branes to certain loci. D3-branes away from these loci break supersymmetry spontaneously, by an F-term. We present the general conditions for supersym...
متن کاملStandard Model Vacua in Heterotic M – Theory
We present a class of N = 1 supersymmetric “standard” models of particle physics, derived directly from heterotic M–theory, that contain three families of chiral quarks and leptons coupled to the gauge group SU(3)C ×SU(2)L×U(1)Y . These models are a fundamental form of “brane world” theories, with an observable and hidden sector each confined, after compactification on a Calabi–Yau threefold, t...
متن کاملFlux-vacua in Two Dimensional String Theory
We analyze the two dimensional type 0 theory with background RR-fluxes. Both the 0A and the 0B theory have two distinct fluxes q and q̃. We study these two theories at finite temperature (compactified on a Euclidean circle of radius R) as a function of the fluxes, the tachyon condensate μ and the radius R. Surprisingly, the dependence on q, q̃ and μ is rather simple. The partition function is the...
متن کاملStandard monomials for wonderful group compactifications
Let X be the wonderful compactification of the semisimple adjoint algebraic group G. We show that the basis of H0(X,L) constructed in [CM03] is compatible with all B×B-orbit closures in X by defining subsets using only combinatorics of the underlying paths. Furthermore, we construct standard monomials on X that have properties similar to classical standard monomials.
